Some Step to Handle Diabetes
Let ‘s start by considering the two types of diabetes. Type 1 diabetics make little or no insulin. Type 2 is usually found in people over 45 who have diabetes in their family who are overweight, who do not, and who have problems with cholesterol. It is also common in certain racial and ethnic groups (blacks, Indians USA, and Hispanics) and women who had diabetes when they were pregnant.
Type 2 diabetes is generally recognized in adulthood, usually after age 45. It was called adult-diabetes mellitus, or non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. Type 2 diabetes life is a disease that affects how your body uses food for energy. The disease develops when the body’s cells become resistant to insulin or when the pancreas can not make enough insulin.
First stage
Consult a doctor and go for appointment. Most doctors want to see diabetics, once every three months, they use this visit to do the work of blood and make sure the patient done their part in treating diabetes. The blood is used to check cholesterol and blood sugar average is determent by a test called A1C. These levels are important for the doctor to determine whether drugs or medication adjustments are necessary.
In addition, the doctor may send you to classes on how to treat diabetes, I highly recommend these classes. They focus on diet, exercise and personal care. They also cover all the different types of medicines on May you be and what they do. Most courses also cover Glucose Meters and how they are used, one I went to condition meters even if you do not have one.
Second stage
Food is another important step; surprisingly I learn from these classes, a diet is not really responsible it is simply a regime that everything must follow a diabetic and non-diabetic. What the regime is on account of the amount of carbohydrates we eat is a level for each meal for men it is 4 carbohydrate choices for women it has 3 choices each choice is composed of 15 grams of carbohydrates each.
Also all meals must be balanced with mostly vegetables and protein and carbohydrates. When you eat sugars and proteins at the same time, slowing the speed at which your body converts carbohydrates into glucose and instead make a quick sugar high, it is growing slowly and not even as high. The goal is to have a small wave in the levels of sugar in the blood instead of a rapid rise.
Stage 3
Exercise can reduce the risk of heart disease, which is common among elderly and in people with diabetes. The exercise is good for everyone, including people with diabetes. It is also an important element in the treatment of diabetes because exercise can improve your body’s response to insulin, help you lose body fat further, and your heart and lungs in good condition. The exercise, a low-sugar diet and lose weight May reduce the risk of diabetes later in life.
Hopefully, these articles will help you understand diabetes. With simple lifestyle and diet changes it is not too difficult to treat. Keep a positive attitude and strive for a heather lifestyle.

The Simple Basics About Diabetes
Simply put, diabetes is the inability of the body to properly handle sugars. When we eat or drink our pancreas produces a hormone called insulin. Insulin is released into the blood and helps regulate the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood. Diabetes is a state where this process is not working properly. This is due to:
– No insulin produced, often called type 1 diabetes, and requires the patient to use insulin injections, or …
– Insulin is produced, but the body becomes resistant to it. What makes ineffective insulin. This is normally called type 2 diabetes and is increasingly common.
Searches latest show that 2 out of 100 people suffer from diabetes. Alarmant of half these people do not even know they have. Many people have diabetes without being aware of it because someone with diabetes appears to be no different than any other person.
Someone may have diabetes for months or even years without realizing they have the condition. The danger is that if diabetes is not immediately life threatening the long-term effects of high blood sugar can be harmful to health. No prolonged diabetes and high blood sugar may, later in life, cause problems in many organs including the kidneys, eyes, nerves and heart. This May his dark, but the control of blood sugar by a combination of medicine, diet and exercise will largely reduce the long-term complications.
The easiest way to check if you have diabetes is to get a blood sugar check with your doctor. A small sample of blood obtained by pricking a finger is checked using a small electronic tester. A normal blood sugar is generally between 72 – 126 mg / dl or 4 – 7 mmol / l (1 mmol / l = 18mg/dl). Diabetes is diagnosed when the body is unable to maintain the level of sugar in the blood within these limits. The unit of measurement used (mmol / l or mg / dl) will depend on which country you live in.
The diagnosis of diabetes may occur in the blue during a routine check-but more often it results from the person suffering the symptoms of diabetes. These symptoms may be much or little, mild or severe depending on the individual.
The symptoms are as follows:
Nothing at all (???) No it’s not a typo. It is true many people do not feel a different effect and are surprised to discover they have diabetes. However, even if you feel you must end your take diabetes seriously and act on the advice of a doctor.
THIRST (polydipsia) It is a very common symptom. Often, it seems no matter how much you drink your mouth still feels as dry as Death Valley. The problem is compounded before diabetes is diagnosed by patients drinking copious quantities of sugary drinks …! Of course, it only increases the level of sugar in the blood and causes an increase in thirst.
INCREASED urinate (polyuria) Another very common symptom. Patients need to urinate frequently and spend large volumes each time. Moreover, this symptom does not take into account the time for sleep is constantly disrupted by the obligation to visit the bathroom during the night. It is a mistake to think this is caused by increased thirst and drink more. The opposite is true. High level of sugar in the blood to spread in the urine which makes syrupy. To counter this law on water is drawn from the body, causing dehydration and therefore thirst.
WEIGHT LOSS Glucose is the form of sugar which is the principal organ of fuel. Diabetics can not deal properly so it passes through the urine and outside the body. Less fuel, the body’s reserve tissues are broken down to produce energy with weight loss.
Other symptoms include constipation, fatigue, lack of energy, tingling or pins and needles in hands and feet, blurred vision and increased infections.
If you met any of these symptoms, it does not necessarily mean that you are diabetic, but it might be advisable to consult your doctor to be sure.
If it does transpire that you have diabetes please do not panic. It may come as a shock and it will result in changes in your life. While (currently) incurable, it can be treated as long-term complications are reduced or eliminated. As a result May actually increase your health and life expectancy compared to before when you do not take care of your body whatsoever. It requires discipline and self-control but there is no reason for anyone with diabetes can live full and perfectly normal life.

What are some breakfast ideas when you have gestational diabetes?
Aug 1st
Question by starlight_940: What are some breakfast ideas when you have gestational diabetes?
I’m 33 weeks pregnant and was recently diagnosed with a touch of gestational diabetes. I am no longer allowed to have more than 15g of carbs for breakfast before 10:00 am. So I have been reduced to some fruit and a glass of milk or yogurt for breakfast. Prior, I was a milk and cereal, muffins, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, and toast eater for breakfast. Now I am starving again after I’ve been at work for an hour with this reduced carb breakfast. It’s hard to have the energy I need to keep up at work when I haven’t had a filling breakfast. I start at 8:00 and I don’t get my lunchbreak until 1:00 usually. I can bring a snack to tie me over until lunch, but I still can’t even eat that until after 10. So do you have any good ideas of foods that will fill me up better but still be within the 15g of carbs guideline?
Best answer:
Answer by Elaura
Eggs and bacon don’t have any carbs so you can still do those. I ate a lot of string cheese which also has very low carbs and is very portable. Also, if you like sausage, you can get frozen, cooked sausage and microwave it.
I found that I could eat multi-grain Cheerios and they didn’t spike my blood sugar over the acceptable limit. Are you testing 2 hours after breakfast? Because it isn’t the number of carbs you eat that is important, it’s how high your blood sugar gets afterward.

Q&A on Diabetes: How does the measurement of a blood C peptide level help to determine the type of diabetes?
Aug 1st
Question by joli: How does the measurement of a blood C peptide level help to determine the type of diabetes?
Occasionally an adult or child is diagnosed with diabetes who does not fit the stereotypical picture of the type of diabetes associated with their age group. How does the measurement of a blood C peptide level help to determine the type of diabetes?
Best answer:
Answer by micksmixxx
C-peptide is only released when insulin is produced. Therefore, if C-peptide is not present, or is in low concentrations, doctors would, very likely, determine that the patient is suffering from type 1 diabetes. (In type 2 diabetes insulin is still produced, though is not readily used due to insulin resistance.)

What is a Diabetes Symptom?
Diabetes is a chronic, incurable disease that occurs when the body does not produce enough or any insulin. As a result, this leads to an excess of sugar in the blood, and can end up being dangerous and even potentially life threatening if not properly taken care of.
Diabetes interferes with the body’s ability to produce or properly use insulin, which is a hormone that is essential for the proper use of the energy contained in the food that we eat. Diabetes develops when your body does not produce enough insulin or use the insulin it is producing properly, and the worst thing about diabetes is that most people are not even aware that they have the disease until it is fully progressed.
There are actually three different types of diabetes: Type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes which occurs in 2 to 4% of women during pregnancy and usually disappears after the birth of the baby. It can increase the risk of the mother and the baby developing diabetes later in life.
Diabetes is a very common condition, and it is therefore very important that everyone is aware of the different possible diabetes symptoms that they may experience at the onset of the disease. You want to know what diabetes signs to watch out for, so that if you ever do notice you are dealing with a diabetes symptom, you can get in to see your doctor as soon as possible and have it confirmed.
This is a crucial step because if you do experience a diabetes symptom and get in to see your doctor who confirms it with a few standard tests, you will then need to quickly get started on the right path of treatment in order to ensure that you are not putting your health in jeopardy.
Diabetes Symptom You May Experience
One diabetes symptom that is quite commonly experienced at the onset of the condition is fatigue. The majority of people who develop diabetes notice that they are much more tired than usual and feeling very drowsy, and so this is one of the symptoms that you want to watch out for.
Another diabetes symptom that you will want to watch out for is weight loss. If you are noticing that you are losing weight and not sure why, it may be due to the onset of diabetes.
Just make sure that you work together with your doctor and that you proper follow treatment plans, to ensure that you stay in optimal health and do not let diabetes take over your life.

Diabetes- Modify Lifestyle for Healthy Living
In every human body the secretion of insulin and glycogen controls blood sugar level but the disturbance in hormone secretion causes high glucose level in the body.
Types and symptoms
Diabetes is of three types that include type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Due to this disease the body starts using fats and proteins as energy source as the glucose breakdown process stops completely. The patient shows some symptoms like poluria due to which the person urinate frequently, polydipsia causes increase in thirst and desire for consequent fluid intake, polyphegia relates with increased appetite as the person feels more and more hungry and even excessive weight loss. In type I diabetes the symptoms develop quickly whereas in type 2 the symptoms are much slow.
Some severe conditions
The extreme case of diabetes ketoacidosis is characterized by the smell of acetone in the breath of the patient, polyuria, vomiting, nausea and abdominal pain. This medical emergency situation is treated in hospital as it can be lethal in some cases. Another severe condition in diabetes is hyperosmolar nonketotic state due to loss of body water as the patient has the habit of drinking sugar-containing drinks.
Genetics
Diabetes is partly inherited from generation to generation but by proper diabetes control methods it can be prevented. The mutated genes of diabetes are carried by some people that causes MODY which is maturity onset diabetes of the young. These genes got triggered by some viral infection, stress or drugs so correct diabetes treatment is required for such patient.
Prevention
The risk of diabetes can be suppressed and prevented by changing the diet and increasing the physical activity. The suspected individual should eat good amount of whole grains and sugar. Even by giving children Vitamin D or some diabetic supplements in their first year of life also reduces the risk of type 1 diabetes. Even breastfeeding act as good prevention of type 2 diabetes in the mothers. Through prophylactic usage of rosiglitazone, metformin and valsartan, the diabetes in predisposed patients is delayed and is a good method for diabetes control.
Diabetes Treatment
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease which can’t be cured permanently but there are some methods for diabetes control and diabetes treatment. By dietic support, self glucose monitoring, sensible exercise and patient education any patient can control blood sugar and maintain the glucose level in the body. As the disease is associated with higher risks of cardiovascular disease so lifestyle should be modified for diabetes control so as to control blood pressure and cholesterol. The patient should cess the habit of smoking, wear diabetic socks and consumes correct diet. Even by the usage of diabetes supplements and insulin the glucose level can be controlled. Even a blood lancet is used to draw out the blood sample and check the sugar level in it.

Diabetes Type – Natural Cure
The first type of diabetes is type 2 diabetes that affects the people who have high blood pressure, are being overweight or have a family history of diabetes. Other causes may be the inactiveness, strokes, vascular disease, or very high cholesterol levels. People over forty-five are at risk for type 2 diabetes here as well. People who have type 2 diabetes but do not take insulin because the body produces enough insulin, however the body does not recognize here the insulin as insulin and does not use it the right way. As a result then the glucose enters the blood stream and builds up causing the body to malfunction. The build up of glucose in the blood stream can cause the dehydration, diabetic coma, nerve damage, hardening of the arteries and also kidney damage. The longer the body goes without a proper treatment, more damage is done to the body and can then lead to death. Although type 2 diabetes is found in the more adults, children are prone to this type of diabetes here as well.Type 1 diabetes typically shows up in children, but can affect some adults as well . Type 1 diabetes is caused when the pancreas does not make any insulin that for the body. The insulin is needed so that the glucose can enter the body cells right instead of staying in the blood stream, which leads to a build up of sugar in just the blood. If a build up of sugar in the blood occurs then long-term health problems will arise such as diabetic ketoacidosis, which can also lead to death. If left untreated type 1 diabetes can often lead to kidney failure, nerve damage, blindness and some other eye problems as well as heart problems.Type 1 diabetes was called the juvenile diabetes for years before being given the current title. Type 1 diabetes was known to affect the children more so than it did adults. The different between type 1 and type 2 diabetes is also that with type 1 diabetes the body does not make insulin and with type 2 the body does not produce enough insulin make to sustain the body. For the most part most people who have type 2 diabetes just need a proper diet with exercise and some medication to treat the diabetes. With those type 1 diabetes most people have to take insulin shots and watch there sugar counts. Some symptoms of type 1 diabetes might be an wide increase in thirst, hunger just after eating, dry mouth, and increased urination, weight loss and fatigue. Type 2 diabetes may have the similar symptoms as type 1 diabetes, but however most of the time you do not experience any symptoms. Some other symptoms you may get you notice with type 2 diabetes are tingling of the feet or hands, weight gain, itchy skin around the groin or the vaginal area as well as yeast infections and sores that heal slowly. If you experience here any of these symptoms, you should seek a medical advice to confirm if it is or is not a form of diabetes. Early diagnosis and treatment is very significant for people who have diabetes or show any particular signs of diabetes symptoms. If you discover your diabetes much early, you can work to counter it so before it becomes too serious. Prolonging a check up can cause more grown harm to the body.
