Have you doctor perform an Hba1c test. You don’t have to fast for it. Then discuss the result with the doc. This test is far better than testing at home with a glucometer.

What kind of tests were these? Were they fasting tests or like an oral glucose tolerance test? Either way I agree with Noccie…a1c is prob. the best test because it shows the average that your blood sugar has been in the last 3 months.

Other Diabetes Tests
In addition to these three diabetes tests, the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) recommends that you also get these tests:
Blood lipids tests. This test checks your LDL (bad cholesterol) and HDL (good cholesterol) and triglyceride levels. Lipid profile screening should be done at least once a year.
Kidney function tests. Get an annual urine test to check for the presence of protein, as well as a blood test at least once a year to check for creatinine. These tests indicate how well your kidneys are working.
Blood pressure check. Have blood pressure checked at every medical appointment. The goal for people with diabetes is less than 130/80 if they have no complications from the disease. If complications are present, the goal is lower: 125/75
