Can you find better prices for well known cosmetics such as Lancome and Channel from department stores like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, or Macys? Or should I go to Sephora?

Question by Jay D: What cosmetics are most important and what colors?
My small company is wanting to expand and would like to know what cosmetics are most important to people ( i.e. lipstick, lipgloss, blush, powder, foundation, eyeshadow, liner) what colors would you like to see? We currently do not offer foundation because most people are pretty set in their ways in terms of foundation do you think we should start making foundation? What color eyeshadows would you like best?

I think you should start making foundation. It just perfects the look and makes it look finished and polished. I ind that eye shadows are very important. The eyes in my opinion can make or break the look of the person. For me I like the blues and purples for the eye shadows. Also bronze and golds. But pink is a must have, because it’s a generic colour that most love. Good luck with this!

I worked as a “Beauty Consultant” at a major department store, basically I was a salesgirl.
My passion is applying makeup to the customer. I left my job and went to make up school where I am now licensed in being a Makeup Artist. Occasionally I get work doing freelance through the Cosmetic company but not enough. I enjoy freelancing for the company and going to different department stores to do events.
My question is how do I approach other lines of cosmetics to get this kind of work,

it requires about 4 years of school and then you have to work for someone real cheap for a few yrs my sister works for Clinique and make a pile now but it took her forever to get there, My Dad said “why did`t you just become a layer” it takes about that long almost.
