Walking is one form of aerobic exercise. Other aerobic exercises are running and cycling. It’s any form of activity the object of which is to raise your heartbeat. ‘Aerobics’ is usually caried out in a gym or class. Gyms usually have all sorts of wonderful machines such as treadmills and nordic ski machines which you may like and may be safer than using roads in the dark but I would say it is better to be out in the fresh air and certainly cheaper but you may miss the social aspect of a gym. Depending on your level of fitness other forms of aerobic exercise may be more effective than walking.
