My grandpa in India got diagnosed with early type 2 diabetes a few years ago. Being more than 80 years old, he finds it difficult to resist sweet treats from time to time. I’m packing some Splenda and some low-carb/sugarfree Jello treats for him, so my mom can make him some sweet treats without worrying about blood sugar levels. I’m going to be with him in a week’s time, and I hope he likes some of the goodies I’m bringing him.
There is no cure for diabetes, yet, but until then, watch those sugary treats, grandpa!

Adagio Tea has the ability for a customer to order custom teas by selecting and mixing a variety of teas and flavors. I got my own custom tea, "Rum and spice", in the mail this week. I added some rum flavor, spiced tea and finished it off with some of their Valentines tea, a black tea with flowery tones (It has dried rose petals in it). I call my tea, "A little bit of rum, a little bit of spice, and a whole lotta love". It brews a mean cup of tea, especially with a touch of milk.
Every person afflicted with diabetes has a unique manifestation of the disease i.e. no two diabetics are similar. Each person has their own treatment regimens, and their bodies react differently to insulin. Just like making our own cup of tea.

I just found out that my sweet Uno has diabetes. I was horrified, to say the least, and I’m still quite a bit emotional about it (he is my baby, after all).
However, I have been assured by the vet — as well as internet sites — that feline diabetes is NOT a "death sentence," and a diabetic cat can live a long and happy life with proper diet, etc.
He’s going in Monday morning for a full test to see how bad his diabetes is, and depending upon the numbers, we may even start an insulin regimen — which I’m also assured is easy and painless. Hopefully, though, we can control everything with his diet.
Please PLEASE say a prayer for my little guy, that we can find a way to manage this disease without him having to suffer. The vet assured me we weren’t at a critical stage now, so that’s good — but I’m still scared for him.

Leslie Sansone has some really good walking DVDs you can get at Wal-Mart, Best Buy or on-line. They are great workouts. My wife and I use two different workouts that we alternate five days a week (one three days a week and the other two days a week.)

I need/want to start doing cardio to up my workouts. what are some good cardio ideas? i know running is good but i really get so bored running.. like i can keep running but i think i’m just really impatient and like to switch things up and i found that i cannot run for more than 10 mintues without getting really frustrated because i’m bored. so what else could i do that doesn’t require a machine/any purchases?
